This shoot was a 2022 highlight FOR SURE! I was initially a little apprehensive when I saw Colleen’s (founder) email, because on the contact form, it described the company as a recruiting firm, and my zone of genius is definitely the creative small business niche. But after taking a quick peek at their social + website, I realize that Linchpin Co IS creative, albeit in a different way from my copywriting, author, and fine artist clients. And it was such a fun challenge to show off how different Linchpin is from the usual corporate bore that you might think of when someone says “recruiter.”

Their team has this seriously incredible energy about them- I left their shoot feeling like I could spit fire, and it’s no doubt from being in the presence of these four women all day. They’re passionate about what they do, and they’re relentless about finding the perfect match between companies and employees, and helping train employees within companies. Just hearing their casual conversations throughout the shoot about how they find and pursue leads was so much more interesting than I would have thought.

We started off at a GORGEOUS natural light studio in downtown Vancouver- seriously, I would fly back to Canada *just* for that studio. We spent the first quarter of their full-day shoot capturing team photos + head shots in front of the white cyc wall (so much smoother of a process than setting up a white seamless paper backdrop!), then we moved to a gorgeous space on top of a mountain for the rest of the day’s content.

On a lighting note, I was pretty nervous when I first saw how much direct light was coming in through the huge windows throughout the home, but I’m actually obsessed with the warmer, direct look. All in all, BC has won my light-loving heart.

Colleen, Sarah, Samantha & Colleen, it was a joy to meet you all and have you in front of my camera! I can’t wait to see the new website launch, and seeing how much you’ve already put your photographs to use makes me SO happy! Whether or not you realized it, rubbing shoulders with such an incredible team filled my tank to overflowing- I’m already crossing my fingers that we’ll get to do this again soon :).
