When I first started shooting for brands, I remember thinking how much I would have LOVED to shoot for a winery. It felt like a pipe dream at the time, so I pushed the goal out of view for years because it seemed so unrealistic. I didn’t remember that particular goal until I was sitting in the parking lot of Veritas Winery, right after a strategy meeting with their marketing manager Lindsey to talk through plans for their session this past Fall! (This is where we hit play on the song “Hey look, Ma, I made it!”)
Working with Veritas was an absolute dream- the family-owned winery is located in the Charlottesville area, one of the most stunning parts of Virginia. Something Lindsey said during one of our calls really stuck with me, that Veritas’ legacy is grounded in Virginia soil. I love that vision- sometimes all it takes is a single passing comment from a client to make things CLICK, and that was it for me!
We spent the afternoon focusing first on interior shots, showing head winemaker Emily at work in the cellars and guests enjoying the tasting room, and then we moved outside in time for a GORGEOUS Charlottesville sunset to capture the gorgeous exteriors Veritas offers their guests, as well as capturing their Taste In Place tasting sets. We rounded out the day with a handful of after-dark tablescapes inside, and I drove home SO excited to get my film off to my lab!
Enjoy a few highlights from the day- this one definitely goes down as a career highlights :). Thank you so much for having me, Veritas! It was such a privilege to shoot for you, and can’t wait to visit again soon.
Also on site for the day was Sam & Meredith of Coastal Film Co, creating video content for Veritas- I loved watching them work!
