This was SUCH a fun one!! Wendy of Chair Whimsy first told me about the collaboration in November while we were at a retreat for the mastermind we’re both in, and I *knew* this was going to be incredible. One of Wendy’s favorite design houses is France Valentine (the red dress she wore in our first shoot is from FV!) and they’d reached out to her about doing a special run of their Spring 2022 patterns on upholstery fabric so she could make a set of her famous chairs.

So in true Wendy style, she wanted to bring her audience in on the journey- Wendy’s people love her brand and her lifestyle, so this was a fun way to celebrate a unique opportunity Wendy had with a designer, while also adding to her existing library of brand imagery.

We started in her studio to document the creation process, then we moved to a local manor venue to shoot the chairs in use. We had three separate scenes set up to give Wendy as much variety as possible- a dinner en blanc, a dining room set-up, and a breakfast nook. We finished up with a few portraits featuring Wendy’s VW Bug, which she had custom-wrapped to feature work from artist Carrie Schmitt, local to the Austin area.

It was hard to keep these under wraps until the Spring 2022 FV collection launched, but we managed it, and I’ve loved seeing how Wendy’s put these photos to work across her brand.

Enjoy a few of my favorites from my second shoot with Chair Whimsy! You can shop Wendy’s chairs here!
