The first time I encountered Wendy was when I heard her talking about the Ugly Chair Challenge she hosts- not knowing anything about her or the Chair Whimsy brand, I immediately decided that I liked her! And then when I had the chance to meet her in person last Spring and see how creative and colorful and kind she is, I *knew* we were going to be friends!

Wendy is the brains behind Chair Whimsy, a chair designer and stylist based in Round Rock, TX. She has this incredible gift for pairing unexpected patterns together (seriously- wait til you see these photos!), and her ability to stop you in your tracks with a bold, audacious chair design is truly unparalleled! In addition to designing, Wendy also teaches her signature course DIY Upholstery (which I am totally going to enroll in) for those who want to try their own hand at getting creative, so as we focused on the stories we wanted to tell about Wendy’s brand through her photoghraphs, the educational side was a significant component of our plan.

It was so inspiring to be with Wendy in her space this past September as we shot these brand photographs- her studio, greenhouse, camper, and home are a riot of color and joy, which made it REALLY hard to stick to the schedule we initially came up with. Every new room we stepped into brought with it a dozen new ideas!

Wendy, it was such a gift to come out for your session- I left feeling so creatively full, and I cannot WAIT for Round 2 in just a few weeks!
