As time passes, I’m becoming more and more of an advocate for personal work. Some of my biggest “aha” moments have come as a result of shooting for myself, and the more personal work I photograph, the more I understand myself as an artist, and the stronger my overall body of work inevitably becomes.
After my first ballerina session with Kristi, I knew I’d stumbled upon an entirely new type of love affair with photography. I came to know Sophie after I met her mother at a wedding industry soirée- Sophie’s currently dancing in Paris, and during one of her short breaks back home in the US, she made time for a session with me. This was, hands down, one of my favorite sessions of all time, something I’d been dreaming of for months and months!
Sophie, thank you so very, very much for giving me an afternoon of your limited time home. I am incredibly thankful for your willingness to go along with my ideas, and it was one of the highlights of my career thus far to have photographed you! Wishing you ALL the best with your upcoming company auditions- I know you’re going to be incredible!
Also a huge thank you to Julie of Jewel Hair Design for the gorgeous, 50’s-chic low ‘do and the impromptu make-up session. Julie, you’re amazing!
