It’s crazy how wedding season works itself out- before leaving my full-time desk job, I’d been expecting to be busy, busy, busy shooting weddings April-October without any time to breathe. But the way it’s worked out the past two wedding seasons, I’ve had a nice break in the middle, during the hottest part of summer. Don’t get me wrong- I absolutely love having weddings on Saturdays! But there is something nice, especially after a long stretch of busy Saturdays, to be able to take a weekend off to spend time with friends. Or to do something normal, like visit the farmer’s market and hit the outlets! Because I spend so many weekends photographing, it makes me treasure the free weekends with Matt even more.

This past weekend we headed down to Charlottesville for an engagement session, but also to see our friends Thomas & Natalie- Thomas was one of Matt’s college roommates and groomsmen, and he & Natalie are just about the sweetest couple on the planet. When we arrived on Friday night, we were greeting with hugs, a glass of wine and a bowl of ice cream. Best hosts ever. Here are just a few images from our weekend in Charlottesville!

I hope I manage to look this adorable whenever I get pregnant.

The view from Pippin Hill was breathtaking. I LOVE Virginia.

Thomas & Natalie were house sitting and dog watching over the weekend- this is a side-by-side comparison of a true German Shepherd and Lily, a Shepherd/Corgi mix. I can definitely see a resemblance :).

Happy Tuesday!
