This past weekend was one of those weekends that makes me really appreciate being a grown-up. I had an engagement session at UVA so Matt and I drove down together to stay with our friends Thomas & Natalie. I’d always thought, aside from the college, Charlottesville was a lackluster town, but I was SO wrong. Charlottesville is stunning! The gorgeous Virginia scenery and the various wineries to choose from made for one relaxing, enjoyable weekend. I went to summer camp at UVA when I was 13 but I’d forgotten how truly beautiful the campus is- it’s almost enough to make me want to find a Masters program to attend in Charlottesville. Almost. 🙂

As always, lessons learned/things that transpired over the weekend:

  • We visited Blue Mountain Brewery for lunch on Saturday, where Thomas & Natalie introduced us to apple, sausage and onion pizza. OH MY GRACIOUS. It was phenomenal.
  • After Blue Mountain, we visited Pippin Hill for a glass of wine and an exquisite view. I’ve heard others sing Pippin Hill’s praises, but I was completely blown away by the venue. Definitely adding it to the bucket list for places I want to shoot!
  • I’ve spent the past two months searching for my favorite pair of Anthropologie earrings- I’ve looked in the change compartment in my car, the side table next to the couch, even the junk drawer in our kitchen. And it wasn’t until I looked in my jewelry box that I finally found them. Imagine that? Crazy town.
  • Well, I finished season one of Glee and am now half way through season two. It’s still enjoyable, but I’ve found myself fast forwarding through most of the ballads… does that make me a terrible person?

A quick preview from Ware & Liz’s e-session at UVA! Ooh, I hope I get to photograph there again.

So so pretty! I’ve only been to Charlottesville once, but would love to go back!

  2. Jean says:

Beautiful photo! You must be kin to me, since I spend a lot of time looking for things I put in a “safe place”. Agreed…Charlottesville is a beautiful area. Can’t wait to see the rest of your pics.

  3. Natalie says:

If you knew the number of times that I’ve lost things in the place where they are “supposed” to be, you’d think I’m crazy! Keys on our Key Ring? What? Earrings in the jewelry box? What? 🙂 Happy you found them!

  4. leah says:

Fireworks in Leesburg and Arlington has a great apple pizza … with bacon and onions. YUM!

  5. Sarah H. says:

Abby – I have never watched Glee… however, I do not think you are a terrible person for fast forwarding 😛
