I love this industry. I really do. And I love where it’s headed. A few years ago, the wedding photography industry was tight-lipped and completely self-serving; no on shared their tips and tricks and everyone they met was viewed as a threat. But within the past few years things have changed- instead of eyeing another photographer with suspicion, ‘togs are much more likely to strike up a friendly competition. As a result you find artists much more generous with their time, willing to and excited to learn from one another.

Serena of Love By Serena Photography is one of those sort of relationships- I’ve been reading her blog for around a year now and not only is her work beautiful, but she’s a complete sweetheart! We decided it was about time for us to actually meet, so we met up in Alexandria this past weekend for dinner and some shooting around. Turns out she’s even more awesome in person! And on top of that, she’s a fabulous model.

Thank you SO MUCH for letting me photograph you, Serena! I’m so glad that we finally had a chance to sit down and chat. I can’t wait for our next shoot out!
