Happy Monday, friends! I’m going to make this a pretty quick MMU because I’m running on about four hours of sleep right now, AND I have to jet in a few minutes for the airport to head to Dublin :). But mostly because I’m running on four hours of sleep :). Granted, I have had two café crèmes today, so knows- I might be ok to drone on as usual. Get ready for a SLEW of sneak previews!

This week has been incredible. Four shoots in seven days, each one breathtaking, inspiring, and soul-refreshing. My day began this morning with these two darlings! If you’ve been following along on the blog for a while, you may recognize them from this session four years ago :). And they’re even more beautiful together now than they were then, if that’s possible! I can’t wait for you guys to see the rest of this session- it was pure magic.

And know what else was magical? Being photographed by David Abel in Paris!! Matt & I met up with David & Kristy to photograph each other, and I’m just so in love with the photographs I’ve seen so far! You better believe I’ll be stalking his Instagram religiously over the next few weeks. Can you believe that’s us? In Paris! Together! I LOVE IT!

And then after photographing my favorite French ballerina, Sophie, I hopped on a train to London for Bryan & Rachel’s engagement session. I wish you guys could meet these two- they’re one of the best pairs of human beings I’ve ever met. No one else could have as much fun as these two did after my rocky start to the day (because my cab driver took me to the completely wrong side of town, which is sort of a problem when you’re trying to shoot at sunrise and are losing light quickly). But these two are pros, and we ended with this shot. So I’d say things went pretty dang well!

London engagement & wedding photographer | Abby GraceAs always, lessons learned/events that transpired!

  • Know what’ll make you feel like a total dork? Standing in line for 30 minutes to take a photo of Platform 9 3/4 at King’s Cross station. By yourself. When everyone else around you is at LEAST a decade younger (not including parents). Whatever- I GREW UP with Harry Potter- like, I actually had to wait for each book to come out, not just go to Barnes & Noble and pick up all seven books at one time. Don’t judge me.
  • It was so worth it, though. I wanted a photo to frame for our living room, and I got it. 30 minutes well-spent!
  • I’m so thankful for Google Translate! If I had a pressing question and couldn’t remember how to say it in French, my phone was RIGHT there. Also, this is the first time I’ve enabled international data on my iPhone and I’m wondering how I ever managed to not die/get anywhere without the GPS during previous trips to France.
  • England has the prettiest train stations. I love the outer facade and entryway of DC’s Union Station, but King’s Cross & St. Pancras International have WAY lovelier interiors. It makes the travel all the more exciting!
  • I think I might start calling people “dahling,” and when I meet someone new, say “chommed!” just to channel my British ancestral roots. And then I’ll end the conversation with “à bientôt” just to make sure everyone’s thoroughly confused!
  • Château Versailles is my new favorite place in Paris!! I only made it through 1/2 of the property yesterday, but I have to go back. If you’re planning a trip to Paris, Versailles is a must-visit. (and you’re welcome for that unsolicited travel advice)

One more preview from Rob & Alicia‘s anniversary session this morning! They’re stupidly attractive, aren’t they? I know.

So much for that “let’s make this a quick MMU!” sentence, right? Happy Monday, friends!
