I first encountered Sarah’s work in 2010 and I remember being captivated by her use of color. This woman is so talented!! For anyone who hasn’t met Sarah Bradshaw, she’s an incredible wedding photographer and wonderful human being. She’s kind, thoughtful, wise, and one of the most intentional people I know. Sarah’s been on the DC wedding scene for more than a decade, and we’ve been in front of each other’s cameras before! It had been almost six years since we’d updated Sarah’s head shots, and rather than a quick shoot, I was thrilled when she asked about a half-day branding session. Her brand is so well-articulated, and I couldn’t wait to capture the tailored aesthetic of her work + warmth of her personality. 

In searching for a location we went back and forth on spots throughout DC but nothing felt quite right. Knowing that Sarah’s brand takes a lot of inspiration from the overall vibe of Ralph Lauren, I searched for homes in Middleburg (which, if you’re not familiar with Virginia, has a very horse country feel to it), and found the perfect spot for her session that felt both personal and chic. I’m so thrilled with how the environment served as the perfect complement to Sarah’s brand!

Other than my own branding session, Sarah’s was the first time I had Katherine Bignon on board for styling- future branding clients, take note! Having an expert dive into your personal style and help curate looks specific to your brand is so helpful in capturing portraits that truly serve to visually enunciate your brand.
