You know those times when your significant other does something so incredibly sweet that it makes you say “awww!” out loud, then run and call your best friend and/or mom to tell them about it? Pardon this next post- it’s that sort of thing.
One of the best things about Matt is how he understands that I need to be pursued. For those of you who know what the five “Love Languages” are, my #1 love language is words of affirmation. When we were dating/engaged long-distance, this came in the form of leaving hidden notes in my room for me to find after he left. When we were together for the summer and after I finished college, it showed up via text messages and calls “just to say I love you.” Now that we’re married, Matt still knows that I need to be pursued, so it comes in the form of the photos below.
I was having a really hard day last week- I’d gotten turned down for a submission by two wedding blogs in one day (I can’t believe I just shared that with the world). Matt knows how rejection affects me (moping, “I’ll never be good enough,” self-pity, etc), so before he left for work, he took the time to leave me bits of encouragement. I always come home for my lunch hour, so he knew I’d see them before heading back for another four hours of work.
I totally got the better end of this whole “marriage” deal.
This little chalkboard sits right next to the front door. Exchanges like this make me laugh.
Happy Tuesday!

You two are too freakin adorable. I saw it all unfold! I was there after the first laundrymat date and the passing of the notebook notes… awww!
Aww this is so sweet!!!
Awwww!!!!!!
awww, I am so sorry that you had a rough day… but YEY GOD for giving you such a wonderful, caring husband! I love the whole notes thing… to this day, I haven’t figure out what my Love Language is, it seems to be a mix of all of them, but I LOVE written things. I am excited to see that someone else loves sticky note loves notes as much as I do 🙂
Love that! I take it you two have been together awhile for him to know you so well! Love that you took pictures of these little memories, a girl after my own heart! he’s a keeper 🙂
