This woman is one of the most talented bridal gown designers in the industry today. I know that’s a big claim to make, but it’s true- her ability to custom design according to her own taste AND her bride’s desires is unparalleled.

Katherine of Katherine Bignon Bridal‘s  style is a mix of her own love of tradition and heirlooms, her home just outside of New York City, and a heavy French influence from the time she spent living in Paris coupled with her very French husband and family. So basically, she’s my business soulmate.

It started as a semi-casual conversation last summer- “I saw you’re going to Paris again in a few weeks- would you be willing to photograph the first half of my most recent collection while you’re there?” To which the answer was VERY obviously “yes!!”

And then upon her finishing the second half, there was almost no question- she wanted to capture this part near her home amongst some of New York City’s most iconic architecture: Central Park.

This shoot was the BEST picture of what true artistic collaboration looks like! I am so very inspired by Katherine’s work, so having our model Katie in some of Katherine’s best pieces was, in and of itself, a joy. But having Katherine there to style and offer feedback was even better- after joyfully exclaiming “I am SO inspired by your work” she shot back with “well, I’M inspired by YOUR photography! So this is perfect!”

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we get to do this again soon- she is my very favorite designer, and it was such a privilege to be one photographing her newest line! Love you so much, Katherine!!
