Ok, so we’ve actually been using Honeybook for about a year now, which might make you ask “why on earth did it take so long to blog about it?!” The rationale behind the delay is this: I wanted to make absolutely sure that if I was going to recommend an investment like this, that it was one I can 100% stand behind.
And I’m thrilled to say that Honeybook is worth the hype! You’ve probably heard of them, in tandem with the Rising Tide Society and Tuesdays Together- I actually had the privilege of speaking at the Honeybook booth at WPPI last year, and then again as one of the keynote speakers for their DC launch party! From the very first interactions I had with the folks at HB, I knew I was going to love them. But I’m getting ahead of myself!
First things first: what IS Honeybook? Simply put, it’s a client relationship management system. Honeybook is where we handle all our contracts, invoices & payments, client questionnaires, vendor tracking, all of it. No more sending out PDFs for your clients to print, sign, and send in the mail. No more waiting on the postman for checks or contracts- Honeybook has made is SO easy for our clients, that we’ll often send out a contract in the morning and receive signatures + retainer fees before lunch!
It’s functional, intuitive, easy to use, and PRETTY. And though that may sound like a silly factor to consider, it’s important- I want every facet of my business to echo the brand I’ve worked so hard to cultivate, and the contracts/payment/questionnaire side of that is no different.
But I have to admit, the thing that initially drew me to Honeybook wasn’t necessarily the product (though that’s definitely a huge part of why we’re with them, now!). The piece that hooked me was the community factor- I loved that they were invested in fostering relationships with vendors, between vendors, with everyone they come in contact with.
My good friend Natalie Franke is the co-founder behind the Rising Tide Society, so when she gave Honeybook her stamp of approval by way of partnering with them for RTS, I knew there had to be merit to this company. And after Matt & I’ve had the opportunity to work one-on-one with Honeybook, get to know some of their key players, and lend our voices in terms of updates and improvements, I can say this with all honesty:
