Let me start by saying I know there are ENTIRELY too many photos in this blog post.

But that’s what happens when you’re a repeat client- the results get better and better with every shoot. Emily’s part of the Threepeat Club (it’s a thing), and it’s the same story every time- the galleries get fatter and the stories go deeper. (See her last session here!)

Having the privilege of getting to know a client’s brand over time means the gallery matures with the business owner- because I understand the business journey as well as the entrepreneur, each successive shoot levels up on the one before it. And dang, we set the bar HIGH with this one!

Emily Gerald is Virginia’s best newborn photographer, hands down. Her work is soft and inviting while still feeling elevated and luxe. But the way she makes her clients feel in front of the camera? That’s the real magic. Our family has been in front of Emily’s camera more times than I can count, and her ability to take the chaos AND keep it real while creating these beautiful, peaceful portraits… it’s totally unmatched.

She makes you feel seen and celebrated, giving you space to NOT have it all together, which, when you’re 10-12 days postpartum? That is a GIFT. She’s a girl’s girl- she’s got your back, she’ll make you look and feel your best. She can take your kids’ silliness and she’s not exasperated by their wiggles, and you’ll look back on your session and think “how on earth did she get them to smile like that?”

This is turning into a Galentine’s Day card to Emily. (Not sorry.) 

Emily recently opened up a studio space outside the home, which was what prompted the need for a refreshed set of brand photos- the new space is GORGEOUS- she has more space than before, a dedicated room for her client closet, a nursing area, a corner for littles to play, a hair and makeup table, and more. The natural light in this studio is unmatched, and being onsite for this session was so inspiring!

Emily, thank you for trust me again and again with your brand imagery. It’s such a privilege to watch you grow as a business owner, and to have a front row seat to the exciting transition into a commercial space all your own! I’m endlessly grateful for you, your friendship, and the unmatched gifts you share with the world!
