I have an incredibly soft spot in my heart for the military. My older brother is a Marine, my younger brother is a Soldier, my sister-in-law is an Airman, my grandfather was a Colonel in the Army, etc. etc. There’s just something about a person in uniform that makes me want to drop whatever I’m doing to help if they have a need. So when Morgan emailed me a week and a half ago to tell me that her fiancé is deploying at the end of the month, I knew there had to be a way to fit it in. After watching friends, family and several of my brides walk through the heartache of their loved ones serving abroad for as long as 13 months, I know how crucial it is to have photographs to get you through it. So we found a date that worked, I left my house at 3:45 am to make it down to Richmond in time, and we started shooting at dawn. And I fell in love with these two immediately.

Drew & Morgan, thank you so very, very much for spending the morning with me. I had so much fun getting to know you guys, quoting Pitch Perfect, and Drew? I demand a rematch of our rap battle. It’s going to happen. Morgan, I hope these images bring you comfort during the months ahead and that they remind you of how worth it this next chapter in your life is going to be. I’ll be praying for both of you guys!
