For those that don’t know, I’m geographically impaired. I couldn’t tell you where Fairfax County is in relation to Washington DC- just that they’re about 30 minutes apart. So when I flew to Colorado, I was under the impression that California was just a hop, skip and a jump away. I also thought that Utah was on the West Coast. No dice. Fortunately, a polite mother-of-three explained the location to me. I felt like a seasoned local after that.
Last week, business took me to the beautiful state of Colorado. Seeing as I’d never been before, I was determined to bring my camera and bring a bit of mountain scenery back with me. After landing in Denver, I had about an hour and a half drive to the Springs. It ended up taking me two and a half hours to get there, after factoring in all of my photo stops.
Note to self: distracted driving includes attempting to photograph while driving. It’s best to pull over.
I’ve never seen clouds like this in Virginia- they look like cotton balls.
This was the view from my balcony at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. If you’re every headed to Colorado Springs, I definitely recommend staying there! The beds were like clouds, and the scenery was gorgeous.
This reminds me of The Sound of Music for some reason.
Happy Tuesday!
