From the first few minutes of their engagement session last fall, I knew these two were the sort I could have photographed these two all day, every day! And their wedding day proved that over and and over. See, wedding days have the potential to be stressful- you spend all these months planning and dreaming, and sometimes, despite all your preparation, there are still un-preventable hiccups. Like the timeline getting pushed. REALLY pushed. But that’s why I love these two (and their families!) so much- they didn’t sweat the small stuff. They took the delays in stride, overjoyed simply because the first day of their marriage was finally HERE. They were more excited to be husband and wife than anything else, which is precisely the sort of thing that makes people love being around them.

The day began at The Fairmont, with one of the sweetest first looks I’ve ever witnessed. And after their joy-filled ceremony, we headed over the Capitol building for portraits at the Speaker of the House’s balcony, one of THE most iconic DC spots I’ve ever had the honor of photographing! Sean & Emily were such a gift- we took our time with portraits, roaming the steps outside before heading in for a private tour of the Capitol. That view off the Speaker’s balcony was so worth the trip, with the DC Mall & Washington Monument stretched out before us (seriously- scroll down to see for yourself!).

Sean & Emily, thank you so much for being as wonderful as you both are. You made my job a breeze, but more importantly, you made my job a JOY. Thank you to you and your families for always trusting me, and for welcoming me in to document such a precious day in your lives with such warmth! Lots of love to you both!
