I don’t even know how to put Italy into words. I don’t think you CAN put it into words, that’s the allure- a place so beautiful, so historically rich and yet still so relevant- you have to see it for yourself to truly understand.
My latest Europe trip began in Vicenza, Italy where I was lucky enough to stay with my friend Sarah- she was the BEST tour guide and host, showing me their favorite restaurants and introducing me to things like spritzes. We ate more pasta & pizza in those few days than I’d had all year so far, and Sarah helped me discover the wonder of real espresso.
Sarah, thank you so much for being such a wonderful friend! Spending time with you was a highlight of my trip- thanks for putting up with my constant questions about the age of this piece of art or that one, my sad attempts at Italian, and the constant start-and-stop that inevitably accompanies walking with a photographer. Love you, girl. Ciao ciao!

So gorgeous. I can barely handle it!
Remember how I was trying to explain about the architect Palladio and his buildings in Vicenza? The Basilica, the building with the huge green roof, is one of his :)Gorgeous photos, took me right back there!
