Isaiah 40:31- “…but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
Waiting has been a common motif in Tyler & Ashley’s relationship. After meeting while on a beach missions trip in the summer of 2009, they remained friends for almost two years before deciding to give the whole “dating” thing a try. And then within a few months of things becoming Facebook official, Ashley felt called to serve on an another missions trip that would take her to 11 countries in as many months.
And so Tyler waited. Before departing, Ashley filled 11 notebooks with a letter for every single day that they were apart, so that even though Skype dates and phone calls were sparse, they were still pursuing each other, still actively dating one another despite the thousands of miles that separate them. And Tyler wrote back to her for every day that she was away, so those notebooks literally serve as a history book of their relationship. Though the months stretched on and on, Tyler never wearied of waiting for Ashley- she was worth every second of it.
Tyler & Ashley, your relationship is such a beautiful testament of God’s faithfulness. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and the tips of my toes for allowing me to be the one to document the first day of the rest of your lives as husband and wife- to say it was an honor feels like an overwhelming understatement. I’m so thankful to call you both friends! Give my love to St. Lucia!
Tyler is a wedding photographer so he knew from the get-go the benefits of doing a First Look!
And then there was a piano in a field.
