You know that feeling when someone does something nice for you, just for the sake of kindness, and you want to shout about it to everyone you know? That’s what today’s post is about.

A few weeks ago I commented on my friend Stephen‘s blog post on swatches he received from his album company- I’d said I wish Leather Craftsmen (the album company I use) had swatch samples like that, because I’d love to actually see and feel the different choices rather than base my decision on a .jpg image of the available options. One week later I was tagged in a Tweet by Joe Fiore, saying he’d sent something to me in the mail. A) I had no idea who Joe Fiore was, 2) how the heck did he get my address??

A couple of days later I received an envelope in the mail with countless swatches of leather choices. It turns out Joe is the Vice President of Leather Craftsmen and had seen my comment on Stephen’s blog (still no idea how he found it), so he looked up my address in the LC database and sent me a full sample of every cover choice they offer. I was absolutely blown away by the level of attention that was paid to me, a random photographer from Virginia. I’m not some super star like Jasmine Star– they don’t earn anything or receive any sort of huge publicity in return for being especially awesome to me.

I was already completely sold on Leather Craftsmen, but now I’m sold for life, and I’m determined to sell every photographer I know on LC albums. If they go to the trouble of making me happy with something as simple as swatches, I know they’re going to take care of me when they’re handling thousands of my dollars in album orders. What’s more is that this whole thing has pushed me to find ways to give that extra little something to my brides- a sweet email, a little gift, just something to let them know that they MATTER to me.
