You know, I’ve been photographing weddings since 2009, and I still can’t get over how miraculous weddings are. That out of the 7 billion people on the planet, two people found the one intended for them. That’s a magic never lost on me. And the sheer JOY emanated on such a momentous day! Like how Joey couldn’t stop staring at Julie, and how she couldn’t stop smiling, and how the two of them were made all the more beautiful because of love- from each other, their friends, their families.

Their day began in the gorgeous, airy bridal suite of the new hotel at DC’s historic Old Post Office. With the schedule calling for a first look in the light-filled hallways, portraits in the city, a ceremony in the Lincoln Library and a dash up to the clock tower for a few more photos, I had a feeling we’d be in for a breathtaking day. And then when Julie donned her gown and lit up the room like she did, I KNEW that day was going to be one for the books. Sure enough, they dazzled me from beginning to end.

Joey & Julie, your relationship is so sweet to behold, and even sweeter to preserve on film. Thank you for letting me be the one to capture Day 1 of your marriage- it was such an honor! I hope you’re loving Majorca!
