I first met Kat last year at her wedding while I was shooting under Mike Lesnick. She’s teeny, sweet, and utterly adorable, and she also happens to very great in front of a camera. So when she contacted me this past November about maternity portraits, my ears perked up!

As a wedding, engagement and portrait photographer, I like to stick to what I know I’m good at shooting- weddings, engagements, and the occasional portrait session. I’ve never photographed a maternity session before and I was inclined to pass her on to one of my amazing maternity photographer friends, but we decided to experiment instead. The result? Some of the most soft, feminine photos I’ve taken. While I don’t think I’ll be offering maternity sessions to the general public just now, I had an amazing afternoon photographing this gorgeous momma-to-be.

Kat- thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to stretch myself and try my strengths! I can’t wait to hear when she arrives!
