Well it’s about time for one of these again, isn’t it? These last two weeks have been utter calamity (the good kind, y’know). First, I was in Santa Barbara for UNITED 2014, and then last week I traveled out to Las Vegas for my first WPPI experience! Both weeks were incredible, and the lack of sleep during the last fortnight was totally and completely worth it. I will admit that this past weekend was spent in recovery mode and I slept more in the last 72 hours than I had in the week prior, but whatever :). I’m just glad to be home with Matt, however brief the respite is! This coming Friday I’ll be leaving again for a weekend in Orlando, and then next Friday I’ll be jet setting for Italy! Everything feels like a whirlwind right now, but hey, best to get it out of my system now, right? Right!

I’ll do a full recap for UNITED & WPPI later this week, but for now, some non-travel-related lessons learned/events that transpired over the past couple of weeks:

  • Matt & I went to go see the Lego movie last weekend- it was so good! Unexpectedly funny, laughs for both kids and adults, AND I left the theater with the song “Everything is awesoooooome” stuck in my head. (Those who’ve seen the movie will know what I’m talking about)
  • In relation to the aforementioned, if you’re going to see a movie on a Saturday morning, DO make sure you eat breakfast beforehand. Movie theater popcorn (with extra butter) is NOT a suitable first meal of the day. You’ll feel sick for hours afterwards.
  • Going away for a week at a time has its perks: Matt brought home Georgetown Cupcakes last week, and then Big Bowl this past week. I really need to get him a trophy or something…
  • You guys are going to laugh at me, but yesterday I had my first TRUE Dunkin’ Donuts experience. I mean, I’ve had donuts from there before, but never have I ever actually dunked those donuts in anything. Yesterday morning I brewed a cup of coffee specifically for that reason, and holy cow. SO DELICIOUS! A classic, original donut + a cup of coffee = match made in heaven. It’s a good thing someone already made a food chain out of the concept.

One last preview from this Nevada anniversary session before it hits the blog tomorrow!
