I’m going to preface this with an apology- this is going to be the year’s shortest blog post. Sorry! I’m on the West Coast for the next few days with a packed schedule full of friends and sunshine, so I have about three minutes to write :).

As always, for your reading pleasure, lessons learned/events that transpired over the last week:

  • There is no dignified way to retrieve something off of the floor from your airplane seat. You don’t want to lay your head in the lap of the person next to you, so leaning to the side isn’t an option. Then again, you barely have enough space in front of you to sneeze, so leaning forward is pretty much out, too. The only option you’re typically left with is awkwardly leaning to the side while smushing your face into the seatback pocket of the person in front of you, worsened by the fat that the person in front of you has reclined their chair.
  • My “check engine” light came on during my way to the wedding on Saturday and I realized it was most likely due to the fact that I haven’t had my oil changed since LAST OCTOBER. How my car has made it 25k+ miles without blowing up is beyond me.
  • Matt made banana chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast on Saturday morning. To all of Matt’s past admirers, I win.

John & Emily’s wedding this weekend was STUNNING. I can’t wait for you guys to see it!!

Happy Monday!

  3. Mia Bjerring says:

    This photo is absolutely stunning!

  4. Erin Schrad says:

I’ve heard that our habit of changing the oil in our cars every 3,000 miles is unnecessary… that most can go 7500 at least before a change. But 25,000 miles may be a new record!! Hope you’re having fun in Cali!

  5. Jean says:

I had the same experience on the plane. I just had to wait until folks were getting ready to leave their seats to retrieve the item that I could feel with my foot. When I finally did retrieve it, it was a cigarette lighter that belonged to the passenger in front of me. How did he get through security with that item in his pocket?

Love the photo. Hope you are having a great time in California.

  6. Karen- Mom says:

Lovely shot! And the airplane thing, I think I saw a news story on TV that there’s some strong discussion on the part of either the entity that regulates air travel or politicians in Congress, that mandatory seating will be lengthened. In other words, there are likely to be new regs for amount of space each passenger gets and they will be better than now. My flight to and from Orlando last week I had the same problems. Enjoy every minute of this trip and grow! Matt will be so happy to see you come home!

  7. Terri Baskin says:

This is hilarious!!! I’ve had those same issues on a plane. Also, this sneak peek is absolutely gorg!!!

A short post, and yet jam-packed with so much humor 🙂
