Let me be the first to congratulate Mother Nature on the absolute bang up of a job she’s done these past couple of weeks. Typically, July/August in Virginia involves stifling temperatures and humidity so thick it’ll fog your glasses. But as of late, we’ve had, dare I say, pleasant weather! And for a runner who’s used to near-dehydration during the summer due to heat, let me just declare my absolute thanks.
This weekend was a whirlwind- my mom’s side of the family had a reunion down in Williamsburg, so we spent a total of 9 hours on the road on Saturday. We forgot to take August beach traffic on 95 into account when we decided to drive up and back in one day… not the wisest move. But I got to see my grandparents, so it was totally worth it!
As always, lessons learned/things that transpired over the past week:
These chillier mornings and cooler nights have got me thinking about all things autumn, so here’s a photo from last year’s corn maze expedition! I’m not one to wish away the rest of summer (because I LOVE summer), but dangit if I’m not excited for apple cider and sweaters.
Happy Monday!

Love the pictures. It was great seeing you in Williamsburg. Sorry you had to deal with the traffic! Love you.
Hilarious! i just had a vision of you running your marathon in pearls and a cardigan! That’s classy right?
I was a runner until I saw the video when I realized how graceful my workouts could be. Ohhhh shower and makeup come BEFORE the exercise, it’s making sense.
Cheers to cider!
could you send some of that fab va weather down to north carolina? it’s just been wretched!! LOOOVE those pics, btw! you are so adorbs.
It was a long ride but it was fun since there were the 3 of us. And, yes, I was a witness to the Chinese Fire Drill. I’m so glad you got to re-connect with my aunt who was an awesome photographer years ago. Aunt Anne was shaking with excitement that 2 generations later was a relative who was as passionate about photography as she was/is.
OHmygosh. Please, please, please stop marathon training immediately. This is fantastic.
