It’s Monday! And you know what that means… time for you all to laugh at me for the things I learned this weekend. They are as follows:

  • Recipes are never right about the amount of time it takes to cook chicken. Four minutes on each side? Baloney. More like TWELVE.
  • Lily likes to play a new game. It’s called “let me out onto the porch- then I’ll bark so you’ll let me in, only for me to want to go right back out again.”
  • Washington DC = not a place you want to be walking around alone as a female before sunrise
  • Listening to the last couple chapters of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is WAY more sad than just reading it. Also, Jim Dale’s voice incites magic wherever he goes.

Here are a couple of sneak previews from my two sunrise sessions this past weekend!

Happy Monday!

Monday Mash-Up

April 16, 2012

  1. Oh I LOVE listening to Harry Potter on audio, it’s SOOOOOOOOO amazing!!!! Also, that first image??!!?!?! PERFECTION!

  2. Jean Hensley says:

Great shots, Abby. You are mighty brave to go to DC early in the morning. Yes, chicken always takes longer to cook than the recipe tells you. I love the blue and green theme in the second image. Both great pictures.

  3. molly says:

hahaha! welcome to the world of owning a dog. “Let me out!” “No, let me in!” “I wanna go back out!” story of my life. hahaha love the pics, too!!

  4. Ha – I so agree with you’re lessons learned. And the sneak peeks are so beautiful! Loving the color.

  5. Rebekah Hoyt says:

Beautiful! Can’t wait to see more!

  6. Stephen says:

Again with the pre-sunrise stuff? I TOLD YOU TO CALL ME!

  7. Oh my gosh, I thought the exact same thing after cooking like 4 chicken recipes a couple weeks ago! My mom taught me a trick – if the chicken breast is really thick, just slice it in half lengthwise so it’s thinner and cooks more evenly. It’s way faster!

  8. psssssssh. where you walkin’ in DC girl? though i totally agree about the chicken. i always just end up baking it. And someday when we get a grill … I will grill it!

  9. Karen Field says:

Beautiful post! And, what ARE you doing in DC before sunrise? Next time take a buddy along, says your mother!
