Wello hellO there, June! It’s a pleasure to see you again- it’s been what, a year? Crazy how the time passes, isn’t it?

But really, guys. It’s June, and 2013 is almost half way over. How does this happen?! I’m still getting used to writing the date with xx/xx/13 on checks. Before graduation college I remember wondering how I’d ever manage to live a year January-December instead of September-June. I think I’ve finally grasped the January-December thing, but it’s only making time pass more quickly! Seriously, universe- SLOW DOWN.

Enough of the heavy stuff. It’s time to recap the past week with lessons learned/things that transpired:

  • Want to know how to strike fear into the heart of a photographer? Take her to a gorgeous shooting location, allow her to set up the perfect shot, then once she steps back into the tall grass to begin shooting, tell her something like this: “Be careful where you move- you’re surrounded by poison ivy.”
  • Also a good way to freak yourself out- finding a moth entrapped in your strands of pearls while you’re shooting at an outdoor wedding reception. Cue: freakout on the dance floor.
  • We left Lily with Matt’s sister over the weekend (THANK YOU, BECKY!) while we headed down to southwest Virginia for Tyler and Ashley’s wedding, and one of the perks of having Lily stay with Becky is how thrilled our three-year-old nice Evelyn is to have a puppy around for the weekend. It turns out they make quite a team- Becky relayed a thrilling tale to use about how Evelyn woke up from a nap, crept downstairs and let Lily out of the crate, walked outside and was halfway around the corner on her training-wheel-equipped-bicycle before Becky caught up to them. I guess we’l be bringing a combination lock with us next time?

Despite the bugs and potential poison ivy, Saturday was BEAUTIFUL. One more preview before their blog post on Thursday!

Girl, I’m right there with you with the bugs and poison ivy. I’ve been known to have quite the “dance moves” when it comes to bees or bugs getting too close!
Love this shot!! Can’t wait to see more 🙂

  2. Jean says:

You were in SW Virginia? Cute story about Lily and Evelyn. Beautiful picture!

  3. Rebekah Hoyt says:

Congratulations Tyler!!! This is a beautiful sneak peek! I cannot wait to see more, Abby! 🙂
