Well hey there, first-Monday-on-the-new-blog! Monday Mash-Up looks GOOD on you. We should do this again, say, once a week? Every week? Done.
This weekend was so amazing! Despite the 100+ degree weather on Saturday in Richmond, John & Hannah’s wedding was nothing short of bliss. They (and their bridal party!) were such troopers and I couldn’t have asked for a happier couple. It made me truly appreciate a well-timed wedding day, too! As always, a few lessons learned from the weekend:
- Sheetz is far less of a wonder at 11:30 pm when you’re exhausted from shooting a wedding, starving, and looking forward to a three-hour drive before you can rest your head for the night.
- Jim Dale (aka the voice of MAGIC) is a lifesaver! I’ve had one of the seven Harry Potter books on CD playing in may car over the past few months and it’s super helpful when I’m driving and sleepy.
- If you’re someone who doesn’t generally react well to caffeine in general, I don’t recommend consuming a large cup of green tea + two full-size cans of Monster energy drinks in a span of 12 hours. Not. attractive.
- Don’t kid yourself- if it’s 100+ degrees outside, your car has black interiors, and you can’t breathe for the heat when you ope your car door? That old bottle of SCALDING water in the back probably won’t do anything to quench your thirst.
- I’m so freaking in love with film. I’m over at my Granny & Pawpaw’s house over the next few days and she’s given me her old Kodak Brownie that she received for Christmas when she was 14 or 15- OHMAHGOSH. I can’t wait to get home and try it out!!
And because every post is better with a photo, here are a few previews from the past week. So so so excited to share all of these sessions with y’all!
And HERE is a screen shot of my new ShowIt website!! If you haven’t seen it yet, you should definitely go explore. It’s just so darn PRETTY!!
Happy Monday!

I think I can actually sort of/maybe/probably not tell the difference between your film and digital shots. Amazing as always!
