If you read Monday’s blog post, you’ll know that second shooting is one of my favorite ways to shoot weddings. Don’t get me wrong, primary shooting definitely tops all in my book, but second shooting is awesome. You don’t have all the responsibility of the main photographer, so you have a bit of room to relax. Also most of the time, the primary photographer handles editing. Win-win.

One of my favorite people to shoot for is Mike Lesnick Photography (this is confusing- Mike is different than Michael, the groom). Mike  is sort of my mentor, though I doubt he’d take too kindly to being called that (haha, just kidding, Mike).  He’s always generous with his time, resources, advice, technical know-how, you name it.

I had the chance to shoot with Mike last Saturday in Middleburg at the Brian Patch Inn Bed and Breakfast. It. was. awesome. Aside from the laid-back, easy-going nature of the bride and groom, the venue was incredible! Gorgeous greenery, farmland, heaven. Definitely one of my favorite weddings that I’ve shot with Mike so far.

Thanks for asking me along, Mike! This was our best wedding teamwork yet! And thank you, Lindsay and Michael, for the opportunity to capture your incredible story. I’ve never met anyone as in love as you two are- it was a joy and a blessing to witness.

I was absolutely in love with the bridal cottage where Lindsay and her ‘maids were getting ready…

Lindsay told me that when she first tried on this dress, she was planning to remove the bow. I’m glad she didn’t- it was my favorite part of her gown!

Now THAT’S a girl who’s ready to get married!

We were so fortunate that the storm coming through let up about 5 minutes before the ceremony. The outdfoor location was gorgeous, overlooking rolling green hills and lush forestry.

I can’t get over how in love they are!

This is Madeline. She’s fierce.

And this is why I love farm/rural weddings.

Michael and Lindsay were SO much fun when it came  time for portraits. He was so good at making her laugh, and the love just kept on coming.

I like the way Michael’s smile reached all the way to his eyes whenever he looked at Lindsay. It made me really happy!

I love watching couples adore each other. It makes me believe in everlasting love all over again.

I swoon.

If for no other reason, kids are worth inviting to weddings for moments like the one below. Precious.

My new friend Madeline was a dancing queen. Seriously. She battled with everyone in the room. It was like living “Step Up.” Except MORE awesome.

Happy Tuesday!

Love Everlasting- Michael and Lindsay

  4. Beautiful pictures! I love the coral and the horse-drawn carriage. I think my most favorite though, is the two little girls with their noses pressed against the window. Ha! You caught everything 🙂
