They first met on a church outing where Chrissy thoroughly ignored David’s not-so-smooth talking. It was perfect timing, as things of these nature often are. Over the seasons, David and Chrissy grew together in love and together in Christ. Their love is true, unyielding, and unconditional. She chooses to overlook the fact that he’s a Yankees fan, he tolerates the fact that she grew up with an affinity for Fenway Park.
I have truly never met a couple like David and Chrissy. Everything about their relationship is pure and lovely. Their wedding ceremony was a testament to their relationship’s foundation in God, and it was nothing short of a blessing to be there with them to document their love.
David and Chrissy- thank you, thank you, and a hundred more times thank you. Watching your ceremony, hearing your stories and watching you all interact left me more in love with my own husband. I hope you’re enjoying your honeymoon, whichever tropical beach you ended up on!
The day began at Cherrydale Baptist Church in Arlington with the delivery of some gorgeously arranged flowers, courtesy of Wegmans and Chrissy’s amazing friends.
Chrissy’s hair was done by Katie McGuire and her make-up was skillfully applied by her bridesmaid Corinne.
Future brides, the next few photos are a key example as to why you MUST have windows wherever you’re getting ready- look at this lighting!!
Definitely one of my favorites.
Chrissy? You’re breathtakingly beautiful.
As part of their ceremony, David and Chrissy chose to sing two worship songs, one of which was “How Deep The Father’s Love For Us.” All I can say is THANK YOU for choosing that song, it was such a gift to hear one of my favorites hymns in the middle of doing my favorite thing: photographing a wedding.
Portrait time! Forewarning- I’ve posted way too many. Sorry I’m not sorry.
The image below on the right is my all-time favorite groom photos for two reasons: a) I didn’t pose this shot. Chrissy was fixing David’s tux and he looked up and that photo happened. 2) How cool does he look?! “Yeah, I know, my wife is gorgeous. Here comes the smolder.”
Bridal party fun!
Chrissy’s bridesmaids were an absolute riot. Not only were they some of the sweetest girls I’ve had the joy of photographing, but DANG did they know how to get down on the dance floor!
After some amazing portraits around the property, we headed inside the Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa for the reception.
It was raining on and off during our portraits before the reception, and then it started POURING. But 30 minutes later, the skies cleared and we were blessed with THIS beauty, the most gorgeous, vibrant and colorful rainbow I’ve ever seen. A covenant 🙂
Chrissy changed into another dress for a few minutes of the reception, and this is David’s reaction when she came out of the bathroom in her new digs.
Chrissy told me ahead of time that they would be doing the Dirty Dancing dance (you know, “I’ve Had The Time Of My Life”?), but I wasn’t prepared for the level of SYTYCD that they brought to the floor.
And then comes dancing. DJ Brian Crow of Crow Entertainment had the dance floor packed all night. No really- it never emptied! He was awesome.
They also had a photo booth! My favorite! Believe it or not, Chrissy and her friend MADE that backdrop. So fetch. Props to Mike, my second shooter, for manning the photo booth for an hour (or two…). I had fun making all the props-on-a-stick.
I KNEW this Batman mask would be a hit!
Yeah I know, I’m dying too.
Sparkler sendoff!
David and Chrissy- you two are amazing, and I am SO glad you’re married now!
Happy Thursday!

A-MAZ-ING. You just get better and better with each session you have. 🙂
Too beautiful to describe. I’m sure it was a blessing to you to photograph this wedding.
I seriously hope they frame that rainbow + dock + birds picture as large as they can possibly get it for their house. It is AMAZING!!!! Wow, what beautiful images. You did a great job, Abby!
Beautiful pictures as always…My favourite pic is still the rainbow one. LOVE IT!!!!
Wow Abby. WOW. That is all.
Holy smokes. The rainbow shots are KILLER. I can’t get over everything you were able to capture- the quiet prayer, the smolder, D’s face when Chrissy changed. Wow lady! Gorgeous work.
I think the pictures got better the farther I got into them! Special!
Ok. LOVES: the first ones!! The one of her on the steps with the ziggzaggy railing… the one of the girls hands all locked together… the one that you love of the groom (of course!!) and the one of his reaction when she comes out in a different dress… and then there are some somewhere in the middle of the portraits outside, but I can’t specifically ID it (maybe you need to number your photos?! lol)
Stunning Abby, just STUNNING. Girl, you are getting better and better and BETTER!!
oh, P.S… so THAT is what a sparkler send off it supposed to look like! 😉
