May 11th dawned, as the forecast had predicted, cloudy and overcast- those threatening skies we’d been promised looked none too inviting. But one of the things I love most about Greg & Jackie is how absolutely unfazed they were by any of it. Anyone else may have gone to pieces about a forecast of thunderstorms on their wedding day, but Greg & Jackie’s laid-back attitudes meant that the only thing they really cared about was getting married, and you can say “I do” under a white tent just as easily as you can under a blue sky. And maybe it was in part due to their cheerfulness no matter what the weatherman was calling for, but those clouds above never did release their contents on Merriweather Manor. Jackie’s radiant smiles were never dampened by sheets of rain, and there was never the sound of rain drops pummeling the roof to mask Greg’s hearty chuckle.

Greg & Jackie, all I can say is thank you. Thank you for bearing the ups and downs of the unexpected of your wedding day with such cheerful hearts, thank you for making each other a priority, and thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to photograph such a big moment in your lives. I hope the shores of Jamaica have welcomed you with white sand and blue skies!
