It’s June 18th and we’re finally on our way to London! Matt & I have been SO excited to travel for James & Deanna’s wedding on Saturday- Deanna and I have been emailing back and forth for over a year, planning the occasional Skype date, getting excited about their big day, and planning for their engagement session in London. It’s been such a blast watching how my business continues to develop, and the more I get to know myself and the kind of couples I really click with, the better a match my brides and groom are for me (as proven by the fact that Deanna sent me a “How To Be British” calendar).

These next two weeks are going to be cramazing (that’s crazy + amazing, for those of you who thought I made a typo)- I can’t wait to share images from our travels with you guys!! Blogging will be less frequent, because as much as this is a work trip, we’re also on vacation and ! Don’t worry, though- I’ll be sharing everything on the blog. You best believe I held up the line at TSA by insisting my film be hand-checked, and I cannot WAIT to explore London, Surrey, Stamford and Paris with my Contax.

As much anxiety as I’ve had over the past few days over making sure everything is charged, packed, packed again, and double checked, I’ve had to remind myself to stop and be THANKFUL. Thankful that Matt and I have this opportunity, for a gorgeous couple who’s allowing us to photograph their wedding day, thankful for the funds to do a trip like this, for a job that allows this kind of flexibility. We’re nervous, since aside from our honeymoon, this is our first big trip together. And since our honeymoon was at an all-inclusive American-esque resort and involved little to no planning other than “show up and relax” (which was amazing, by the way!), I feel ok being a little nervous. But I’ve got my favorite person in the world as my travel buddy, we’re going to my second favorite country in the world (MURR’CA!), and we’ll get to see people we love along the way.

So off we go, on a day that was supposed to begin with a 3 am wake-up but actually began with a 5:15 panic attack. But somehow we managed to get out at our planned time, which makes me wonder what we would have done with all the extra time if we’d risen at 3?
