Brides, this one is for you AND your stationer + calligrapher, if you have one! My brides will often send a wedding invitation to me in the mail, which I LOVE, but once it’s been through the USPS system, it’s often scuffed and sometimes a little dinged up. AKA it doesn’t photograph very well after having been toted around in the mailman’s mail bag, know what I mean?
So what you as a bride will want to do is set aside one full set of your paper products- invitation, reply card, any extra informational cards, a menu, a program, all the good stuff. Set those aside in a flat ziploc bag, and have your calligrapher address one extra set of out + inner envelopes to YOU, the bride & groom, and make sure they’re packed with everything you’ll be bringing to your bridal suite! Pop it in the bag with your shoes, or hand it to your wedding planner, whatever- that way, when I arrive on the morning of the wedding, there’s a fresh invitation, sans-USPS bruises, for me to photograph for your album!
There’s not always time in the bridal suite to style the invitation exactly the way I’d like to, and in those cases I’ll take the set of paper with me to photograph later. But having that clean set makes such a difference- that way I’m not trying to hide bent corners of response cards or scuffs on the envelope from the set I received in the mail!
Happy Wednesday!
