When Alyssa graduated from Radford University, she had no idea what the next few months of her life would look like. The economy had recently taken a nosedive, meaning employment opportunities were thin on the ground. With a degree in Geography, she wasn’t sure what she wanted to do, so after six months of frustration, she took her dad’s suggestion and joined the Army. It’s a good thing she did, too, because it was at Officer Candidate School that she first laid eyes on Chris. And as Alyssa’s maid of honor recalled at the wedding, they all knew he was it when Alyssa put away her party dresses to settle down with him.
It was a few months before they were both scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan when Chris decided it was time to make things permanent. He’d had an elaborate day of activities planned out, but after a botched night of duty on base, plans changed. So instead of gallivanting around Savannah that day, he instead proposed in their living room. But Alyssa was just fine with it, because either way, this was the beginning of something amazing.
Chris & Alyssa, I am so, SO glad for the chance to get to know you both and to photograph your wedding day. You all are so much fun together- it’s obvious that you’re the best of friends and your lives together will be full of good times and laughter. Thank you for keeping me smiling the entire day- from your First Look to your sparkler exit, I know everyone in attendance had the best of times.
I love this so much. You two are ridiculously good looking together.
Thanks to Sarah for this shot!
