They started out, as many of the best relationships do, as friends. Brought together by mutual friends of theirs, Josh & Lorinda spent two full years in the platonic stage. But around that two year mark, something subtle shifted. A friend of theirs was raising money for charity walk and needed their group to patron particular local restaurants, so Josh & Lorinda both headed out to dine in the name of philanthropy. And somewhere along the line, Josh began to notice her as more than a friend, more than just another member of their band of cohorts. And so he asked to take her out for a night of dining, just the two of them.
After an evening at the Melting Pot, Lorinda joked that she didn’t know how Josh would ever top himself. But top himself he did, and when the time came to ask Lorinda one very big question, they returned to where it all began at the very same Melting Pot. Before walking in to claim their reservation, Josh turned to Lorinda, told her that “this is a good way to top that first date,” and lowered himself to one knee with a ring in hand. As the hostesses inside screamed with glee at what they were witnessing, Lorinda managed a “yes!” and flung herself into his waiting arms.
Josh & Lorinda, I am so grateful for the chance to get to know you both and to photograph your love! You two are hilarious, spunky and fun, and I really can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoyed getting to know you so far. I can’t WAIT to photograph y’all again next April for your wedding!!
We began at sunrise at Lorinda’s grandfather’s house on the Eastern Shore of Maryland…
Lorinda’s grandfather’s house was where Lorinda and her family spent many a week each summer, so returning there for their engagement session was really important to Lorinda. I LOVE shooting in locations that mean something to my couples!
Oh Lorinda! You are so, so elegant!
After a quick outfit change, the sky finally produced the rain it’d been threatening all morning. So we did the only practical thing left to do- grabbed umbrellas and kept shooting anyways!
You guys are so. stinking. CUTE.
FAVORITES!
Lorinda happens to be a fabulous wedding planner in the area, so y’all should definitely check her out!
Happy Tuesday!
