It all started at the University of Maryland. “We met on Facebook,” he recounts. “No, we met in the dorm. He was watching The Notebook,” she supplies. “No, it was soccer,” he reminds her. She’s organized, he’s…not. He’s a classic USA-kinda guy, she’s a gorgeous Brazilian-American. They have their different strengths, but when they come together, it just… works.

For their engagement session, Gary and Clarisse took me back to where it all began in College Park. We sauntered around campus on a gorgeous Sunday in November and they gave me a tour of where their love blossomed, with us eventually ending up in the very dorm where they met. Where Gary was most definitely watching soccer, not The Notebook.

Gary and Clarisse, I can’t tell you how much I love watching you two interact. Your session left with a smile on my face and joy in my heart, and I am positively thrilled to be shooting your wedding next fall. Also, I’m glad we weren’t forcibly ejected from the stadium. Or locked in.

 

Gary and Clarisse brought along their two pups, Marley and Dixon. They did nothing but fuel my desire for puppy.

We headed back to the car so they Gary and Clarisse could change, and when she came out in this dress I nearly died. How adorable is she?

One more quick outfit change and we headed down to Byrd Stadium. I was pretty sure we were going to get kicked out, but no one bothered us.

We made one last stop at the dorm in which Gary and Clarisse met. This stairwell is where they shared their first kiss 🙂
