They met at a fourth of July party in 2008, but it took another couple of years to come back around again. “Where was your first date?” I ask them. “Clyde’s,” he says with satisfaction. “Yeah, to watch football!” she teases him. He does his absolute best to make things perfect for her, and she loves him fiercely in return. And then on one particular weekend in September, Barry told Artieda he had a surprise for her. One train ride to NYC and an Andrea Bocelli concert in Central Park later, Arteida thought the surprise was over. But then Barry asked her to meet him downstairs, and as she descended the steps of the Plaza Hotel, there he was on one knee with a ring.
Barry and Arteida, you two were such a pleasure to photograph! I loved touring around Alexandria with you, chatting about cupcakes, houses and sports team. You all truly are some of the most naturally photogenic people I’ve ever had the joy of photographing!
I think Coco was getting jealous the Barry and Arteida weren’t paying her much attention…
AHH, Arteida, I love your outfit! You look like Christmas!
Love!
Both Barry and Arteida have modeling experience. Big shocker, right? 🙂
This MIGHT be one of my favorite ring shots ever. And Arteida was the one who had the idea to use the holly sprig. Love this girl!
Please go be in a magazine. Right now.

oh abby these are just beautiful!! as soon as they sit on those brick steps you can tell they just fall into each other and really get comfortable with you – great job 🙂 i adore the ones with the sailboat!! and the few where they are in the middle of the street (especially the one where artieda has her arms around him and they’re smiling) i think you did an amazing job capturing their love!!!!
