Remember that one time I posted about loving “classic” things, like Coca Cola in glass bottles? Our Christmas tree is kind of an embodiment of that concept. Not that I spent a ton of time planning it or anything, I just knew what I was looking for when I finally got around to shopping for decorations.
I grew up with a family that ONLY used white Christmas lights. Both Matt’s and my families had an angel at the top of the tree. But I wanted a fifties tree. I wanted a retro tree with a tacky tinsel&lights star, with classic ball ornaments and big, colored lights. Essentially, I wanted the tree from “A Christmas Story.” I’m missing the tinsel trim on the boughs of the tree, but there’s always next year 🙂
These lights! I love them so much!
This makes me want to shoot film again.
Happy Friday!

Abby! I love your camera ornament, it’s adorable. I love what you did to your tree.
Looks great! Love the camera ornament!
Awwww… SO pretty! We have colored lights too! I actually planned to write a blog about my tree, maybe you will have to read it. 🙂
Beautiful tree! Love the colored lights!
Lovin’ the lights!
But personally, I was never a fan of ‘A Christmas Story’ :/
love those lights! we are TOTALLY doing that next year 🙂
My first Christmases were with a tree that looks like yours. Then Dad decided that he wanted white lights, I think it had to do with his Williamsburg roots. I wanted to copy the tree that stood out in my memory so we went with the white. As I remember it Dad thought colored lights were tacky. So that was my attitude. I’ll admire your tree while enjoying my white lights, thank you very much!
Love the tree! And especially love the little camera! so cute!
