Sometimes as a wedding photographer, I hear stories that sadden me- that folks got their wedding day images back and didn’t like them. Or that the experience was so frustrating that it’s made it hard for them to look back at their photographs with anything but regret. Often, years have passed between the wedding day and the time I hear the story, so there’s not much to be done but to suggest anniversary portraits, or if possible, a vow renewal.
But this time was different! David & Alexis were married this past summer at the Ritz-Carlton in Aruba and decided their wedding portraits needed a do-over. The Presidential Suite + grounds of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel were the perfect backdrops! It was a typical DC day- slightly cool, cloudy, and threat of rain. But the weather cooperated with us, and we captured so many portraits that I KNOW these two will love for years and years.
David & Alexis, thank you thank you for choosing me as the one to capture these most important portraits! I know the pain of being disappointed with your wedding photos isn’t easily fixed, but I hope these are even better than you’d hoped for. It was such a privilege to photograph you both together- you made my job WAY too easy! Also? Those Ladurée macarons that arrived at our door yesterday were sheer perfection. You know me so well!
