As of tomorrow, Matt and I have been married for 9 months now. Three quarters of a year.

I love Pottery Barn but can never afford to shop there (who has $58 to spend on a THROW PILLOW?), but I found some awesome matted photo frames there on clearance so I splurged and bought six. We spent over an hour one Saturday in March hanging these hallowed photo frames- I even broke out my ruler and T-square to measure the EXACT placement of the frames. You know, for aesthetic appeal.

And yet, here we are, all the way in October, and I have yet to fill those frames. The plan was to put some of our wedding images and engagement photos, but I’ve somehow never found the time to get around to ordering them. As the title says, I am a sad excuse for a wedding photographer.

People, I urge you NOT to follow my example.

Also, Matt and I made a real grocery shopping trip yesterday, our first in a couple of months (we usually do the two-three times a week “honey can you pick up some bread and milk?” kind of trip). This morning I woke up and was unusually excited for breakfast. I believe this photo can explain why.

Happy Friday!

I am a sad excuse for a photographer.

  1. Haha! I have LOTS of photos on our wall from our wedding and engagement shoot. It was something I was SO excited about that it happened pretty quickly. You have some pretty awesome photos too so you should definately do that soon!

  2. Isn’t there a saying about the shoemakers children never having shoes.. When you’re a wedding photographer, you’re the most likely to not have images of your own wedding up on the walls… haha! 🙂 You’ll get there! Don’t worry! XO!

  3. Jean Hensley says:

Get some of those gorgeous photos into those lovely frames. You are way too hard on yourself, missy!

  4. Susan says:

No worries, you wouldn’t believe how many broken drawers we have around here, even though Bryan works with wood all day! lol Yummy breakfast, by the way!

  5. Maria says:

Dude, I was just thinking of picking up some of those frames yesterday! Love how they look!

  6. Lucky Charms would make my morning any day, and you’re not a sad excuse of photographer! Shush shush!

  7. Justin Cassavaugh says:

    Congrats on 9 Months!! 🙂

  8. Courtney Bay says:

In the fall I am a fan of the booberry and count chocula. (as if that is spelled right….)

  9. Melissa says:

You are too stinkin’ cute. And I still get excited about Lucky Charms also. 🙂

  10. Karen Field says:

    You’re hilarious!

  11. Matt says:

My dad worked in sales for an electrical supply company; three years after they built their own house they still didn’t have a fan/light fixture in the master bedroom, which he could have gotten for free but just never wanted to think about fixtures when he got home.

  12. you MUST print some photos out! our house is adorned in our wedding pictures/engagement pictures and every time i see one i just get SO freaking happy! totally worth it!

  13. […] official because we JUST hung our first wedding image! Last fall I made fun of myself for being a terrible excuse for a wedding photographer due to the lack of my own wedding images on display in our apartment, and I’m glad to say […]
