Sometimes I’m afraid to share my dreams. There’s this little voice that tells me “if you share that dream and then fail to accomplish it, everyone will know, and everyone will laugh at you.” But the longer I’m in business and the more industry friends I make, the more I realize how wrong that voice is! Because the truth is, if I share my dreams and don’t accomplish them, I have people there encouraging me anyways. 

And when I finally do accomplish those dreams? The cheers are deafening.

Having a full wedding featured in Washingtonian Bride & Groom has been a dream of mine for more than three years now, and as of last week, it’s one that’s finally come true!! You all remember Patrick & Katie’s gorgeous DAR wedding with Laura of Events In The City? It was chosen for print! And not only was it chosen for print, but they gave us four pages!!

I know the seemingly cool thing to do with be to pretend like this isn’t a big deal. Like “nbd, got a four page feature in my favorite wedding magazine, don’t mind me while I go sip mimosas by the poolside.” But it IS a big deal for me! Remember when I named this particular goal back in this post in May? This was my first full wedding print feature and I’m going to celebrate hard over this one!!

Laura, thank you so much for initiating in send the images over to Washingtonian. You have no idea how amazing it made me feel, and I absolutely LOVED working with you on such a beautiful wedding for such a sweet couple!

Sarah, thank you a hundred times over for choosing this one for the magazine! You’ve been an  immense encouragement and I’m so grateful!

Patrick & Katie, you two are uncommonly wonderful. Thank you again for allowing me the joy of capturing the most special day of your lives so far. It was such a privilege!
