Confession: I get REALLY nervous when shooting proposals! Like heartbeat-in-your-ears, sweaty palms, mouth dry, the works. But when you get an email from a guy like Keith spilling his plans to propose to his wonderful girlfriend, and tells you that they both love your work? There’s no way I’d miss that! EsPECIALLY when it involves a covert trip up to New York for it all!
Keith and I coordinated ahead of time- he was planning an “early Valentine’s Day outing” for he and Melanie, but wouldn’t tell her what they were doing. “It’s a surprise!” he told her. They began with brunch at their favorite local spot in Brooklyn, and on their way to the next destination, Keith suggested they stop by the Brooklyn Public Library and recreate their first selfie together, on the front steps of the library. After the photo, Keith stopped to tie his shoe, and then pulled out the most beautiful custom made ring, and asked Melanie to be his wife! And her excitement was precious to behold.
Keith & Melanie, thank you so, so much for allowing me to come and document such a perfect moment in your lives together! It was a privilege to say the least, and I had SO much fun with the two of you. Lots of love to you both!
And then Melanie’s first words to me were “Oh my gosh, I follow you on Instagram and I saw you were coming to New York today!!” She is SO CUTE!! I love their joy!
As if this custom rose gold, yellow sapphire engagement ring by Dana Walden Jewelry isn’t incredible enough like this…
…Keith had them add the Deathly Hallows symbol. #bestfiancéever
