Ok. So we’re exactly one week from the beginning of Spring, which means while it’s technically still winter, one would think it would begin to warm up around now, yes?
No.
The forecast is calling for NINE INCHES of snow beginning tonight and lasting all day tomorrow.
The rational side of me says I’m supposed to be annoyed by this, and I’m definitely not opposed to Spring. But come on- a snow storm? Those are the best!! So while I wish it were warm, if it HAS to be cold? At least we’re going to get snow out of it :). (photo below is a self-portrait from our FIRST snow in our first home!)
Last week was rough. There’s no two ways about it. I’d called over to our fertility doctor to schedule our first round of fertility treatments, and after a few roundabout calls to the doctor + our insurance company, we came to find out that our insurance providers will not be covering any of our treatments. So from here on out, we’re on our own. To put it mildly, I didn’t handle that news very well; if you’ve ever had to pay out of pocket for anything medical, you’ll understand just how devastating that news can be.
So for now, we’re proceeding anyways and are hoping and praying and TRUSTING (well, I’m trying my best to trust) that God has a purpose for this, even though we can’t see it yet.
I know Monday Mash-Ups are usually lighthearted and fun, but it just felt disingenuous not to share that, since it’s such a glaring thing in our lives right now.
And now to lighten things up a bit with lessons learned/events that transpired over the past week!
I finally got to see my favorite band EVER in concert this past weekend! I’ve loved Mae since 2005, and I don’t know why it took me so long to make it to a show. But I did, and I made sure to buy tickets for their show at the Norva (Mae’s home venue), which made it all the more incredible. And all I have to show for it is a crappy iPhone photo, because I decided to leave my Canon at home to make sure I was really being PRESENT, instead of focusing on getting legit shots for my blog :). No regrets.

And Mae, I remember being the parents that housed Daphne Loves Derby stay in our basement and how excited to go to school to tell everyone!
Love ‘ya, girl!
Where did you do get super yummy ramen?
