Happy Monday, my friends! This Virginia weather is giving me a bit of whiplash- it was nearly 70 last Wednesday, and then we woke up Thursday with a dusting of snow on the car. I DON’T GET IT. And now they’re forecasting the cherry blossoms will bloom earlier than usual because of the insane temperatures, and I think the entire DC photography community might have a nervous breakdown from the scheduling complications that result :). Yaaay March!

Despite my grievances with the weather, Spring is my favorite season! I love how HOPEFUL it is, with the trees in bloom and birds outside my office window, and the fact that walking the dogs in the morning is enjoyable instead of painfully cold. I love that farmer’s markets will open soon and that everything seems to be new and bright and darling in the Spring!

As always, lessons learned/events that transpired over the last week:

  • For the record, it’s probably not a good idea to buy three boxes of Girl Scout cookies on the same day you decide to start tracking calories. I’ve NEVER managed to make a box of Samoas last more than 36 hours, but this time? It last EIGHT DAYS. This is a miracle, my friends.
  • Our niece has been asking for a sleepover for a while now and we finally made it happen on Friday. The great thing about sleepovers? You can send kids home with all the candy you bought for the sleepover movie night, so now all you have to contend with are the Girl Scout cookies!
  • The greatest thing about tracking your intake with the app we’re using (it’s called “Lose It”) is that when you plug in your exercise for the day, you get this amazing feeling of satisfaction when you see how many MORE Samoas and/or Think Mints you can have as it accounts for the calories you burned.
  • You guys, I think I might be addicted to Girl Scout cookies.

My film from France arrived Friday night!! I can’t WAIT to dig into all the goodness!

One of great things about traveling with a good friend like Katherine is that a) you get to travel with a good friend, and 2) said good friend is also skilled behind the camera and is happy to oblige when you ask for a photo of you in one of your favorite places on earth!
