It’s been QUITE a long time since I’ve ordered a new sample album- prior to receiving these new books, the last one I’d ordered was from Meg & William’s wedding in May of 2014! Not only has my photographic style continued to evolve (at the very least, the switch to shooting film at weddings), but we’ve also changed up my album designs a bit- I want my couples and their families to be able to enjoy their albums as an heirloom and as a piece of art, so we’ve moved into a less-cluttered design style that involves more white space and fewer photographs per page. All that to say, I was due for a refresh.

After hearing such amazing things about this new bookbinder from so many of our friends who use them, and after having the chance to see and touch several of their books at a conference this past year, we made the decision to switch over. It was a big decision for me, since I’d never used anyone other than the bookbinder we started with, but after seeing these books in person (and, let’s be honest, after looking through them countless times because they are SO BEAUTIFUL!!), I know this was the best move for us at this time!

I ordered four new sample albums- a wedding album each in 10×10 and 8×8, an engagement guestbook in 8×8, and a mini wedding album in 4×4 (you’re going to die over how adorable that one is!). We also wanted to get a really good feel for their linen vs. leather options, so I made sure to order two in each cover treatment! The 10×10 & 4×4 are leather, and both 8x8s are linen.

Let’s start big and then go small! Here’s a look at the leather bound 10×10- John & Kristy’s wedding was such a sweet end to my 2017, and I just knew I needed a permanent copy of their photographs in my office!

Next up is the linen 8×8, an engagement guestbook! Here it is atop the 10×10, to give you an idea for size difference:

It’s been a long time since we’ve offered engagement guestbooks but this sample has made me fall in love with them all over again, and I can’t wait to begin ordering these for our 2018 & 2019 couples! I’m also loving the look of the text-only cover. It feels so luxurious, having a custom-bound, linen book like this one.

This is the first time we’re able to offer these adorable mini-books, and I can’t stop squealing over how perfectly sweet this pink number is. These are perfect for carrying in your purse, or gifting to grandparents or parents who might not have space for a full wedding album!

We can’t show you R & B’s full wedding day yet, but here are a few sneak peeks to show you how perfectly they fit into this tiny little album.

One of the best results to come from these books is that I feel like I’ve fallen in love with my work all over again. We always talk about how important it is to for our couples to print their photographs, to have physical copies in their home and NOT just on their computer, and these books helped drive home that point for me! Digital files are convenient but I truly believe that photographs serve their true and FULLEST purpose when they’re hanging in your home, or bound perfectly into the most beautiful custom album on your coffee table.
