It was the most DC day you could have imagined. Bridal portaits at the Hay Adams, a gorgeous ceremony at one of DC’s most historic churches (the same church visited by every US president for the last 200 years), and a brunch reception at Decatur House complete with waffles (Leslie Knope would be so proud!) and bloody marys. Oh, and we can’t forget finishing up with portraits in the park in front of the White House, or post-brunch romantic photographs at the Lincoln Memorial. In short, Kip & Liz are probably the most patriotic couple that ever wed.

They were just so ready to be married. Excited for the wedding, yes, but ready to be husband and wife more than anything. And that, I think, is what I love most about them. That they value their marriage so much. Kip & Liz, I don’t know what to say other than thank you. Thank you for inviting me to come and capture your day, your family, your friends, and for giving me the opportunity to step into your lives to document such a momentous occasion. I hope you’re loving Turks & Caicos, and that Hurricane Joaqin isn’t getting you down!
