I’ve been looking forward to Chris & Crystal’s session for a LONG time now. She emailed me almost a year ago to ask about anniversary portraits, knowing that the Army would soon be transferring them from out West to the beautiful state of Virginia. So we began to plan! And as soon as she said “tulle skirt” and “Lincoln Memorial,” I knew we’d get along well.

Photographing these two was sort of like watching two high school sweethearts- the playful banter, the way she held onto his hand with both of hers, and the laughter. So much laughter! Watching him flirt with her was so adorable, and the teasing was always sweet at its core. They’re exactly the sort of couple I love photographing- joy-filled, playful, and crazy in love.

Chris & Crystal, it was such a blessing to spend the morning with you two! Thank you so much for allowing me to be the one to photograph your newest season on the east coast. I had way too many favorites from your session, I hope you love these as much as I do!
