About that… sorry guys! I took off on Sunday afternoon for WPPI, and in the two years since I’ve attended the Las Vegas conference, I must have forgotten just how insane things are.
Because here’s the thing- when you go to a big ol’ gathering of photographers like WPPI, you spend a lot of time catching up with old friends, and spending time with new ones. And it’s the best. The absolute best. So many of my photog friends are from other areas of the country, and conferences are the only time I get to see them, so if people want to hang out and play cards against humanity (fueled by a glass of red wine + Double Stuf Oreos), then you bet I’ll be there.
I am an extrovert to the extreme, and in a city as insane as Vegas, time spent by myself feels really, really lonely! So I went to bed no earlier than 3 am each night, and I don’t regret it at all!
The only DOWNside to that was that I didn’t get a single blog post written. See, I spoke at the Honeybook booth on Monday afternoon, but of course that morning was spent prepping, primping, and getting myself over to the conference. With the new schedule we’ve been working on for me, Mondays are the day I pre-blog for the rest of the week. I totally forgot about how crazy WPPI is, so when I realized it was Wednesday and I still hadn’t written a single post for the week, I allowed myself some grace. The only other time during the year when I take a break from blogging is CHRISTMAS. So I think I’ve earned it!
I cannot explain what an amazing time I had in Las Vegas! My flight didn’t get in until 11pm on Sunday night, and I didn’t get into my hotel room until close to midnight. But when I received a couple of texts from friends saying “come hang out!” I couldn’t resist, which is how I ended up staying up until 3pm PST (aka 6am according to my internal clock, since I came from DC).
So now I’m finally getting back into the swing of things, which includes [hopefully] returning to a normal sleep schedule! Wish me luck, and happy Friday friends!
[I couldn’t resist the opportunity to share few images from Lukas & Suzy’s anniversary session- remember this one? They’re so adorable together!]
