The conversation went something like this…

“Hey girl… what would you think if I asked for an hour of your time in your wedding dress at dawn on Sunday? I’m hoping to shoot a few rolls of film.”
“YES!!!”

This is one of many reasons I love Rebekah. She’s one of the sweetest, most genuine people I’ve ever met, and I am so infinitely thankful that she and her husband Matt live close enough for Rebekah and I to have photo dates. We’ve only been friends for a few months now but I already love her more than is probably normal. Did I just admit that to the internet? Yup.

Anyways, Rebekah was kind enough to get up at o’dark:30 on Sunday morning to indulge my need for a personal photo venture, and I’m so pleased with how the film turned out! The cherry blossoms were right at the end of their life when we arrived in DC but we managed to capture some really beautiful images with the few remaining blossoms and the petals that now carpeted the grass beneath the trees.

Rebekah, thank you so much for lending me your morning. I was starved for inspiration and you delivered. Thank you thank you thank you!!

*Disclaimer: this was my absolute first attempt with color film (besides those disposable cameras when I was 12). I realize I have a long way to go, but I’m really pleased with these as my first try.*

I had a hard time with the colors in the next few. Anyone with tips on adjusting the white balance in scans of film?

The one below on the left is my absolute favorite. Oh Rebekah, if you only knew how beautiful you are!

I know the focus is blurred on the image to the left, but I still love it for some reason.

WOW Abby!! Seriously – thank you for making me feel stunning. These images are amazing. So beautiful, so simple, so raw, and yet something about them is quite magical. You have a true gift and as harsh of a critic as I am of myself as a model, I LOVE these. For only shooting 3 rolls of film, you have a TON of great shots! Wonderful, my friend 🙂

  2. Abby, these are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also: i have a love obsession with film photography. i don’t have any desire to shoot it, but i just can’t get enough of it – it’s like this wholesome little place where bad things can’t happen in the photo world… or at least that’s what i’ve made it haha
