Shawn and Ashley met in college, though they went to the same high school and spent four years passing each other by. She thought he was cute, but didn’t realize she wanted him until she heard another girl teasing him and calling him “Luda,” a shortened version of his last name. She now shares that last name, and I personally remember her making plans during their engagement to order a license plate inscribed with “Mrs. Luda.”

It’s been almost a year and a half since their wedding and Shawn and Ashley are more in love than I’ve ever seen. Ashley was one of my five roommates during our senior year of college, and their engagement was the first I ever photographed so I was especially thrilled to have a chance at redemption with their Love Shoot ( 🙂 ). We headed over to Krop’s Crops to shoot among their choose’n’cut trees, and it ended up being the perfect backdrop for Shawn and Ashley’s session!

Mr. and Mrs. Luda, thank you so much for asking me to photograph you all. It was such an absolute joy to spend time with you two, and I really appreciated the chance to have you in front of my (much more experienced) lens again. Ashley, you and Shawn are such a testament to God’s redeeming love- thanks for being an awesome example of what a willing servant’s heart looks like.
